What is a VCC Problem-Solving session?
A 1-hr session in which VCC Problem Solvers answer questions submitted by club members. In keeping with the VCC’s mission to help members to help themselves, these sessions allow members to ask questions about computer hardware and software problems they may be encountering.
Keep in mind that the Problem Solvers will offer advice and answer questions but will not repair any computer at the meeting nor perform extensive troubleshooting. Where practical, it may be helpful to have your computer with you to aid in explaining your problem.
Questions may be submitted prior to the meeting using the VCC Problem-Solving Form (available on the VCC website) or may be submitted verbally from the floor during the Problem-Solving session.
How to Use the Problem-Solving Form
After downloading and saving the form (a pdf file) to a convenient location, there are 3 ways to fill it out:

-then print it
(3) Come to the meeting between 12:30 & 1:00pm and meet with a VCC Problem Solver who will review the problem with you and fill out the form for you.

Finding a Home for your Old Computer
While the VCC is not in the business of refurbishing computers, we do encourage and facilitate the donation of computer equipment to a sub-group of VCC club members, the Villages Computer Refurbishment Group.
The Refurbishment Group only accepts computers running Windows 7, 8 or 10. They also accept flat-panel monitors. They do NOT accept printers.
You may drop off the computers at any of the club’s Friday meetings where they will be collected and given to the refurbishing group. This equipment is then repaired and restored for use by needy residents of our area.
Please bring your computer donations to one of our regular meetings (between 12:30 and 1 PM). But, DO NOT bring the equipment inside. Please come into the meeting room and seek out one of the refurbishing staff members who will take it out of your car and put it in one of ours.
The VCC does not provide a receipt for tax deduction purposes for any donated equipment. To contact the Villages Computer Refurbishment Group please email them at this address: [email protected]
