The Villages Computer Club (VCC) Mission Statement:

The VCC was originally founded for the purpose of helping others to help themselves, and that mission continues unchanged.
The VCC has a very sharp focus on hardware and software that is associated with Microsoft Windows and Android based platforms.

However, the VCC does appreciate the appeal, and ubiquitous presence of Apple products in our community.
In recognition of that fact, the VCC provides links to Apple tech support in sections 07, 08, 09 and 10 of the SELF-HELP segment of our website.

VCC Meeting News

Please consult the Preview box, located just below our Welcome to The Villages Computer Club banner, for up-to-date details regarding Upcoming Meetings: Dates, Topics and Presenter(s).

The VCC now meets ONLY via Zoom at 1:00pm on the 1st & 2nd Friday of each month, unless circumstances make a 3rd (third) Friday meeting date necessary (Zoom meeting room opens at 12:30pm).

A formal announcement will be distributed via Google Group e-mail to everyone who has signed up for the Club’s Mailing List prior to the meeting date. It will contain info concerning start time, plus the info needed to login to our Zoom meeting room. Also, as in the past, we will provide a summary of the presentation to be given at the meeting, as well other pertinent info. Please keep in mind the fact that we no longer conduct in-person meetings and now meet only via Zoom.

Join the Club

There is no formal membership requirement and there are no dues – all you need to do is join our Mailing List.

Computer Donations

The Villages Computer Club is no longer involved in facilitating the donation of computer equipment.

If you have any unused or nonfunctioning computer or electronic equipment that you wish to dispose of, please consider recycling it, rather than putting it out with the trash.

Lake County runs a recycling location for residents off Rolling Acres Road. We recommend contacting the Lake County government offices for specific information.
For those who live in Sumter or Marion counties, we suggest you contact either Staples or Best Buy, since both retailers run recycling programs.

If you are concerned about personal data left on an old hard disk drive, you can Google how to wipe your drive clean to protect your privacy.
