PC Hardware Prices
11-14-18: PC Hardware Component Prices are going up - Buy Now!
If you Build, Upgrade, or Repair your own PC hardware; or if you pay someone else to do that for you then you need to be aware of some significant changes in the price of component parts that is fast approaching. The Trump administration is increasing the initial tariff that was imposed on PC components imported from China earlier this year from 10% to 25%, effective January 1, 2019. As a consequence, the prices you pay today will be significantly higher next year for the very same items.
In a PC Magazine article by Michael Kan published on Nov. 9, 2018, you can read about the projected impact on PC hobbyists, PC users, as well as on PC businesses both large and small. The article recommends that, wherever possible, those who will be affected stock up on the parts that are most commonly needed in a build, upgrade or repair situation.
